Enrichment Week 2018
With Enrichment Week fast approaching I write to inform you of finer details and other useful information.
We have managed to combine an exciting off-site programme, that the majority of our students will access, along with a carousel of activities which will be delivered in school.
Monday, 16th July students will attend school as normal.
Tuesday, 17th July Enrichment week activities commence with the majority of students opting to attend school visits. A small number of students have chosen to remain in school partaking in sports activities.
Wednesday, 18th July will be a school based day starting at 9am and students will take part in a range of activities which may include:
Nerf War, Gaming, Film Club, Body Sculpture, Boot Camp, Boxing, Lexie Performance
Thursday, 19th July will reflect Tuesday’s timetable.
Friday, 20th July will start at 9am and students will be dismissed at 12.30. This is a non- uniform day.
Activities will be allocated based on year group and tutor group.
Please be aware of the following trip guidelines for all:
All students are required to be in uniform for all trips with the exception of Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Bike Mobility and Sports Activities in school.
Thorpe Park and Chessington students are expected to dress sensibly and comfortably (smart casual) and for Bike Mobility and Sports activities students are expected to wear school PE kit.
All other trips are full school uniform which includes shoes, tie and a blazer. Students not wearing this will not be allowed to attend the trip and no refund will be offered.
Furthermore, mobile phones cannot be used on trips without teacher permission. Permission may be granted for students to research/take photographs.
All school trips need to return to school. The only exception to this is if a trip arrives back at Gidea Park close to 2.45pm. In this instance students may be dismissed from the station. Permission will not be granted for students to depart from an earlier stop or any other destination.
We are looking forward to signing the year off with a fun and exciting week.
Please be reminded of the following:
- All students are expected to attend Enrichment Week - all week
- Medical Evidence is required for all illnesses/absences reported that fall in the days leading up to or following a school holiday. Without medical evidence absences will be unauthorised.
- Unauthorised Absences may result in referral to the Local Authority who have the power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (fines) or take Legal Action against you.
All that remains is for me to thank you for your support this academic year and to wish you all the very best for the summer holidays. We look forward to welcoming everyone back safely in September.
